Park on King was named as a 2019 NSW Finalist in the Emerging & Energised category of the Telstra Business Awards! We were thrilled to take this opportunity for a rare night off to get dressed up at the New South Wales Awards Dinner held at the Grand Ballroom, ICC Sydney, on Thursday 24th October 2019.

For 27 years, the Telstra Business Awards have shone a light on small to medium businesses across Australia. There were over 21,000 entries nationwide this year and Park on King was selected as just one of six finalists in NSW for the Emerging & Energised category!

We were evaluated across a broad range of criteria, including: strategy and vision, customers and marketing, operations, people and culture, innovation and technology, social responsibility and financial acumen. There were multiple application stages including written applications, personal interviews, an office tour and video submissions. Although we didn’t take out top place as the State Winner, entering the Telstra Business Awards has been a rigorous but extremely eye-opening and invaluable process.

We came into this not knowing a thing about operating an airport car park but we had desire to really shake up the airport parking industry and deliver a world-class experience.

When we started mapping out the blueprint of Park on King, we knew that we didn’t want to be defined by the transactional nature of airport parking. We knew that travel was becoming more affordable, but airport parking hadn’t evolved to meet the growing demands of Australian travellers. We wanted to build a business with heart. We wanted the workplace to feel like family. As the first and last stop of a holiday, we strive every day to leave a positive impact on our customers.

The entire journey has been a steep learning curve for us and with this humbling recognition as a finalist on a national level, we are now even more energised for the next phase of Park on King.
